Kipp uses cloud AI only after your explicit consent. The full screenshot you choose passes through Kipp's secure cloud processing to an independent AI provider, and the validated result returns to your iPhone.
Kipp processes the full screenshot you select, the requested output language, your device time zone and the screenshot capture time. These details let the AI provider interpret content, categorise it and resolve relative dates before suggesting an action.
Kipp also uses an anonymous app identifier for authentication, subscription entitlement, quota and request metadata. That identifier is not included in the content sent for AI analysis.
Your library, thumbnails, analysis results, Spaces, search index, settings and action history are stored locally under iOS Data Protection. Existing local results remain available offline.
The original screenshot remains in your Photos library unless you delete it there. Kipp does not automatically remove it.
The AI provider receives the full screenshot you chose, along with analysis instructions, the requested language, device time zone and capture time. Kipp does not send the rest of your Photos library or the contents of Calendar, Reminders or Contacts.
The provider is independent and has its own processing terms. Its general privacy terms say inputs and uploaded images may be collected and used to develop its services, technology and models; Kipp has not identified a Kipp-specific zero-retention or no-training commitment. Do not submit sensitive content or content you do not have the right to have processed.
Kipp sends a fixed, predefined set of content-free usage events to Mixpanel, a product analytics provider. The events cover opening the app, viewing a screen, completing onboarding, starting an import, an analysis succeeding or failing, viewing the paywall, starting or completing a purchase, and opening or completing a suggested action. The only details attached are the screen name, the purchased plan, the type of action and a closed list of error codes such as an exhausted quota or a provider timeout.
Your screenshot, any text or content extracted from it, the analysis title, summary, category, links, contact details, locations and amounts, and the model's prompt or response are never sent to Mixpanel. Mixpanel does not record your screen and does not capture screen content automatically: session replay, autocapture and automatic event collection are switched off, and device model, operating system version, carrier and network details are excluded. IP-based location lookup is disabled, and there is no advertising or cross-app tracking.
These events are linked to your anonymous Kipp app identifier and to a Mixpanel device identifier, which makes them associable with your other content-free Kipp cloud records. They are therefore pseudonymous rather than anonymous data. Mixpanel processes them on its EU infrastructure; a transfer from Turkiye to the EU is still a transfer abroad under Turkish data protection law. Mixpanel retains the events for at most 730 days under the current project configuration.
Product analytics is on by default. This version of the app does not include an in-app control to switch it off, and turning off AI consent does not stop it: the two are separate data flows. If you want your analytics records deleted, write to the privacy address below before you clear the app's anonymous identity.
Before the first AI analysis, Kipp asks you to approve the current consent text and explains that an independent provider processes the selected screenshot. The consent version, provider and acceptance time are stored only on your device. Each analysis request carries the consent version so the server can compare it with the current version without storing a second consent record.
You can turn off AI consent in Settings. Existing local results remain, but Kipp stops new AI analysis until consent is given again.
Kipp sends a limited set of product events to Mixpanel's EU service to understand feature use and diagnose failures. Events cover app launches, onboarding, imports, analysis outcomes and error codes, paywall and purchase state, plan type, and action type. They are linked to an anonymous Firebase user ID and a Mixpanel device ID.
Kipp never sends screenshots, extracted text, titles, summaries, model input or output, URLs, contact details, locations or amounts to Mixpanel. IP-based location, autocapture, automatic lifecycle events and advertising tracking are disabled.
Screenshot bytes exist in Kipp's server memory only while the analysis request is being processed. Memory references are released when the request ends. Kipp does not write screenshots, prompts or provider responses to persistent cloud storage or application logs.
Local Kipp data and content-free cloud metadata remain until you use Clear Kipp Data. Product analytics events already sent to Mixpanel are not removed by that step and remain for up to 730 days. Apple controls the legal and financial retention of purchase and subscription records.
