Data deletion

Delete Kipp data from inside the app.

Clear Kipp Data removes Kipp's local library and anonymous cloud metadata. It does not delete screenshots from Photos, product analytics events already sent, or provider-controlled purchase records.

In-app steps

  1. Open Kipp and go to Settings.

  2. Choose Clear Kipp Data.

  3. Read the deletion summary and confirm.

  4. Kipp cancels pending requests, removes local and cloud metadata, deletes the anonymous app identity and restarts with a clean anonymous identity.

Removed

What Kipp deletes

  • Local app records, the local search index and local thumbnails
  • Pending Kipp analysis requests
  • Cloud user, entitlement, usage and analysis-request metadata
  • The anonymous app identity

Retained

What this does not delete

  • Original screenshots in Apple Photos; they remain until you delete them in Photos
  • Apple purchase and subscription records
  • Product analytics events already sent to Mixpanel; ask the privacy contact to delete them before you clear the anonymous app identity
  • Analysis requests processed by the external AI provider; their handling remains subject to the provider's own retention policy

Apple controls external financial records under its own legal retention policies. Analysis requests processed by the external AI provider are subject to that provider's own retention policy. These records are not Kipp cloud metadata. Mixpanel retains product analytics events for at most 730 days under the current project configuration.
